My cat would not eat it.
I tried to get my cat to eat this, but she would not. I gave some to my sisters cat, and he did not eat it either. I paid a lot for this, and Do not want no more of this food.

It’s about time!
Good food in large cans! What more can a multiple cat parent ask for? If you have more cats - as many cat parents do - you get tired of opening all those tiny cans while your hungry pets are waiting. Performatrin Ultra Chicken Stew is an appetizing meal in a large can that solves that problem.

We have tried so many brands of quality canned food. Trying to find something in a larger size can so we can feed six cats has even been harder. And then finding something that all six cats like. Well all six of our cats agree this is a five star brand.

Our cat was adopted in Ohio and he was fed this brand. In addition to enjoying the taste he was in very good health. Sadly when we moved to the west coast we could no longer find this brand. He developed a few issues but once we gave him the food his weight increased and he appeared to be more of his self. We would hope additional flavours such as plain beef and turkey would become available in future.

Great size, great food.
Almost the only brand of cat food still available in a large tin. The ONLY brand for "meat in gravy" style cat food in a large tin. A total of four meals in each can, so only one can to throw out after four meals, not four cans. Easy to open too.

What happened?
For a couple of months my 10 year old cats absolutely loved this food. I was happy because they have digestive issues and this seemed to work. Then suddenly they turned against it! Even my 18-pounder who normally licked the bowl clean would barely touch it. I know cats can be unpredictable with their food choices, but I cant help but wonder if something was wrong with the 4 cans in that batch or if the formula has changed. I emailed Performatrin but got no response.

Inconsistent Product
Cats are finicky, everyone knows this. Finding a brand your cats enjoy is very important. We cat owners depend on consistent quality from every can we buy, otherwise we are throwing money away because the cats won’t eat it. My two cats have been eating the Performatrin Ultra Chicken Stew for a couple of years and seem to really enjoy it, most of the time. However, during this time I (they) have noticed an inconsistency with the recipe. Most of the time my cats will clean their plate of this stew but there are many times when they will sniff it, take a couple of bites, and walk back to me looking for more food. I’ve noticed the difference myself. When they won’t eat it I’ve noticed the “meat” pieces are much tougher and look kind of like ground beef rather than the chicken-like tender chunks it’s supposed to be. I’ve even bought the large can and the 5 oz in an attempt to save money, however, the large can was the same ground-up mushy consistency they don’t like. The 5 oz was good about 1/2 of the time (we buy cases). As a result, we always order cases of the 3oz cans because they were always a consistent product. Unfortunately, this last shipment of 4 cases was also about 50-50 which means I end up throwing out approximately half of what I buy. This is too expensive to be this inconsistent. Unfortunately, it looks like we will be looking for a new brand of wet food. Too bad.

A canned food he loves!
My cat, Jasper, can be picky when it comes to canned food. No pate, please! And not too much gravy! This chicken stew is just right! Since he is also prone to Urinary problems, I was thrilled to see he has not had ANY flare ups with this food since it is low in magnesium. Thanks so much for a great product!

My cats love this!
My kittens have become cats, and it was time to move them to the ultra products. They didn't love the canned kitten food (the chicken flavor), and I was afraid that they wouldn't like this one either. Fear not! They love this, eagerly eating it as soon as I put it down. It has made feeding time so much easier as they eat, and then I remove the dishes leaving dry food for the in-between meal times. They also love the trout stew, the only other one I have tried.

The kids all like it.
I really am wondering if this product is as good as it's ingredient label shows. Doesn't look like chicken at all, looks more like beef, and it's of a bread like loaf and looks like it's full of fillers, but I can't be sure. Good news is we have 6 cats and they all liked it real well and ate it up. It does smell decent, and hopefully it is as good of quality as the ingredient label indicates. For it's price point it's a value buy. The can is easy to open having a pull top that is easy to remove.
