With the price of things going higher and higher
High prices caused me to try cheaper dog foods but had to go back to Purina dog chow chicken . I was cleaning up about 4 time the piles of dog poop per day! The food they were eating was going straight through and not giving the supplements they needed!

Fed Labs this mostly for 20+and they’re doing well
Feel my Labs with this product and they do well on it. I have gone to other feeds when not available and they didn’t seem to like as much. I don’t give them as much as packaging recommendation just feed them twos day. During bird season I do supplement and give more especially in cold weather.

I have been feeding this to my dogs for many years. I’m absolutely disgusted with this recent price gouge. The price recently went up by $5 per bag. Ok I get it … everything is going up. But for Purina to drop the bag size by 1/3 and leave it at this higher price is just BS. I will be looking at another brand and will discontinue using Purina products going forward.

Something messed up when making the dog batch
I have bought two bags of Purina dog chow, complete for adult chicken flavor in the last two bags have had little black pokey. Things in the dog food almost looks like a little wire, but it’s more flimsy and you have to actually pull it out with your nail.

Throw it out, it should be recalled
This product needs recalled, its seriously hurting our dogs.
Yellow loose stools, vomiting, now panting and drinking excessive water.
In my opinion it is damaging their kidneys as well as upsetting their microbiome.
I would add photos but you don't want to see the results of them eating this. there's clearly too much yellow coloring as well. I have never seen a dog food so artificially yellow.

Made dogs sick
Loved this product for 10+ years. A couple of months ago the formula, shape and color of the kibbles changed. Every since then our dogs, who have ate this brand of food for years, have been sick and throwing up within minutes of eating this food. We switched them to a different manufacturer and the problems stopped. I believe there is something wrong with this food.

Our favorite dog food until a formula change
We have fed our dogs this product for many years. Recently, Purina changed the composition of the chow, and our dog spits out the little cylindrical pieces all over the house. She hates the new formula. I had an 8 month old bag which was lying around, and it doesn't have the cylinders. She loves this food. I am assuming I can't get the old formula any more, and I am going to have to change what we give her. Please get rid of the cylindrical pieces

New formula - our dog won’t eat it now
Our dog has always eaten this dog food right to the bottom of the bag. She has always loved it. But with the new formula with the brown cylinder shaped pieces, she won’t even touch it. It’s so sad because she’s rather not even eat at all then even touch it. Only giving this 2 stars because she used to love it, but that isn’t the case anymore.

Best dog food around
I have used Purina Adult Dog Chow Complete for years in my breeding program. I put all puppies on Purina Puppy Chow Complete. It’s my opinion the best all around dog food. Never any issues with my dogs or puppies. I recommend this brand to all new owners as well as people who inquire what type of dog and puppy food I use and if any issues. Purina is a time tested product and has been around since forever. It only makes sense to use it.

My dog use to love them now wont touch them
My dog was really into these biscuits and now she literally would rather starve than eat the current recipe. Im going to have to change biscuits which is a shame as these use to be so great for her.

Allergies to the NEW dog chow
My dogs have been eating dog chow since I got them a few years ago. I got a bag of the new dog chow about a month ago. I noticed my pit bull started scratching more than usual but I thought it was just her shedding but the scratching got worse. The only thing new is the new dog chow. It is not the same formula. Whatever was added has made my dog miserable. There really should be a warning or something letting the consumer know that there were changes made. My baby has hip dysplasia so on top of that she has been itching and scratching uncontrollably. Please clearly state that there have been changes made.

Gave my dog hives bc of formula change
Only good I’ve fed my Rosie for 8 years. After seeing other reviews confirming a formula change, I’m outraged. My dog is broken out in hives and this was the only food that didn’t upset her stomach.

Would not recommend to most people anymore
This recipe was reformulated earlier this year. There's less chicken and more filler. It now causes looser yellow stool in my dogs. The price increased and the bag sizes shrunk as well. I'm switching to Diamond's Hi-Energy formula. I give this a fair rating as it's still above Ol' Roy.

FORMULA CHANGE - Dog no longer enjoys it
Our dogs have eaten Purina Dog Chow for decades...my mom was a Purina scientist back in the 50's, we love all the support Purina gives to shelters, and the food has been great for all of our dogs over the years. But this new formula with the dark brown cylinder-shaped pieces is a no-go for my dog. He has stopped eating his food. We switched foods and he is back to enjoying eating. We try to mix in some of the dog chow, and he rejects it again. It is definitely the dark brown pieces, but he also is not thrilled about the other pieces that have been stored with those brown pieces.

Formula change?
I have feed my dogs this for about 11 years. They always ate it until gone. Now they hardly touch it. All of my six dogs are reacting the same to it. I noticed recently the food looks different .

I've been using Purina dog chow my entire life lol. My parents fed it to my childhood dogs and I feed it to mine. My dogs love it. Ol Gus has been eating it for 16 years with no complaints! The price is great and it's easy to find!

Our rescue schnoodle has eaten Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult all his life. You changed from "Real Chicken" to "Chicken FLAVOR" and he doesn't want to eat it and it upsets his stomach. Will you ever produce the original again?

My dogs are always pretty picky about what they eat. Purina’s Complete is about one of the few they love. I love it simply because of the ingredients and the low cost. I’m getting a 48 lb. Bag for $22.. Awesome!! Only wish it had more protein than it does. Otherwise great product

I bought this when I usually brand was out for a few weeks. To say the least my dogs didnt like and when they would eat they would cough like something gets stuck in their throats. I went back to my normal brand once available. This dog food is made with high protein which is great for very active dogs but not so much for them dogs 10+ years.
